I am having similar problem. It is mentioned that “a PHP accelerator should be installed” is an optional requirement. But trying to install without php accelerator step ‘Clear cache before database initialization’ fails and installation stops.

Guys, any additional information from error logs of application logs would help to understand issue better, please share it.

My issue got fixed. It was due to some missing tables/fields in the database. More details are here: https://github.com/orocrm/crm/issues/40

I had the same error. My app/logs/oro_install.log showed this:

The php executable could not be found, add it to your PATH environment variable and try again
    cache:clear [–no-warmup] [–no-optional-warmers]
    Command “cache:clear” executed in 2 second(s), memory usage: 3.67Mb

Turns out I had to disable the open_basedir restriction for the virtual host and then it worked just fine.
