You can reduce the resources usage by decreasing the number of running consumers and by limiting the message consumer memory, see https://doc.oroinc.com/backend/mq/consumer/index#options.
Also as every integration is unique from the data perspective, you can find what is the most consuming with the http://blackfire.io and optimize it in the customization.
